The film is an adaptation of Guy de Maupassant�s story in which the Twilight star will play cold hearted lothario George Duroy, a young and impoverished Parisian journalist who becomes one of the city�s most successful men.
His success however is down to his ruthless seduction Paris�s most glamorous and influential women.
Those powerful women include Uma Thurman, who plays the wife of a friend, who later goes on to marry Duroy and Kristin Scott Thomas as a socialite who falls for his charms.
Christina Ricci will star as Clotilde de Marelle, a friend who turns her attentions to Duroy during her husband�s prolonged absences.
