Robert Pattinson�s shock no-show at the BRITs 2010

Excited Twilight fans were left disappointed when Robert Pattinson failed to take to the stage to present Best British Single at tonight�s BRIT Awards

Twilight fans got extremely excited when it seemed like heartthrob Robert Pattinson was going to take to the stage at the BRITs to present an award.

BRITs host Peter Kay introduced someone famous for his �fangs� and indicated that he was associated with Twilight. Just as girls began screaming at their TV, Kay revealed it wasn�t going to be Robert Pattinson but in fact comedian Alan Carr.

Carr came on to present the award for Best British Single but for many, it would have been the highlight of an already glittering awards ceremony, had Pattinson showed up on stage.

Previously in a band and famed for his love of music, it would have been a fantastic coup for the BRITs organisers has Rob actually come to the ceremony.

But the young star is said to be too busy with filming commitments to take time out to attend ceremonies. Indeed it is rumoured that he has little time to do anything out with work at the moment, including seeing his alleged girlfriend, Kristen Stewart.
