Who better to confirm a piece of casting news than the Queen of Twilight herself? Last night, Stephenie Meyer shared a note with the Official Twilight Facebook page which confirms information which had been circulating the net: that Mackenzie Foy had been cast as �Renesmee� for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn � Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn � Part 2. The note celebrates Twilight Facebook�s acquisition of over 15 million fans � which makes it the ninth most popular page on Facebook.

Congratulations to the Twilight Facebook Fan Page! 15 million fans! You guys never cease to amaze me. In other news�
Very excited about our new Renesmee, Mackenzie Foy. She�s an amazing young actress and I�m excited to work with her. I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer!

According to any number of interviews with Meyer, the character �Renesmee� is one which is very dear to Meyer�s heart. No doubt her role as producer helped assure that an actress with Meyer�s approval was chosen for the role.
