'Eclipse' Director David Slade on Fans, Bella and Charlie, and Married Life

Photobucket
While we're busy screaming over feathery Twitpics from "Breaking Dawn," Summit Entertainment is offering "The Twilight Saga" fans a juicy stocking stuffer to tide them over -- an extras-packed, two-disc DVD set for "Eclipse."
The Ministry caught up with director David Slade, who steered the third installment of the franchise, as he reflected on his whirlwind year in the Twi-universe. After all, a year ago at this time, Slade was only a month into editing the flick.
"Finishing the film is a moment of great weight. It's not just getting it cut, it's when the final print is timed and there's nothing more to do," he said. "It was the night before we did our press junket we finished it."
Finished staring at the famous faces of Robert PattinsonKristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, that is. Slade, whose pedigree is in music videos and darker indies such as "Hard Candy," said he did his best with the "Eclipse" DVD to please the vampire saga's legions of fans.
"This is the only thing I've ever done that's had such a fan subculture, so with the deleted scenes I wanted to do a little justification for them," Slade said.
Chief among the scenes cut from the theatrical version of the film was an exchange between Stewart's Bella and her on-screen dad Charlie, played by Billy Burke.

[Spoiler alert!] The two have a bonding moment after her high school graduation, one of Bella's last mortal activities before Pattinson's Edward follows through on making her a vampire.
"It's all in Billy's face, when you watch the film 30-odd times or more, there's more in his face than in his words," Slade said. "I was so confident that was going to make it in, we did it in one shot. It was two people trying to be as close to each other as possible."
Fans will get to live that moment when the DVD hits stores on Dec. 4.
Meanwhile, Slade will announce his next film in a matter of weeks, but insists it won't be any of the numerous projects that have been rumored.
"It always surprises me, what can get out there, like I'm doing 'Christine,' the Stephen King story. No, I'm not!" he said.
He did consider directing the next installment of "Wolverine," starring Hugh Jackman.
"We've gotten a ton of scripts, 30-odd projects, and one of them was 'Wolverine,' which Darren Aronofsky is doing. I met with Hugh, but felt it was right that they continue together."
The Ministry is also happy to report that Slade eloped Aug. 12 with his girlfriend of eight years, mere weeks after the June 24 world premiere of "Eclipse."
"Married life suits me," he said.
And now it's Stewart and Pattinson's turn -- on screen of course. Shooting is underway for "Breaking Dawn" parts one and two, under director Bill Condon.

Dig Your Teeth Into Edward & Bellas Secrets - Kristen and Rob Handwriting Analysis

Edward Cullen: And so the lion fell in love with the lamb.
Isabella Swan: What a stupid lamb.
Edward Cullen: What a sick, masochistic lion.

Edward Cullen: Im the worlds most dangerous predator, Bella. Every thing about me invites you in. My voice, my face, even my smell. As if I would need any of that as if you could outrun me as if you could fight me off. Im designed to kill.

Isabella Swan: Are you going to tell me how you stopped the van?
Edward Cullen: Yeah. Um I had an adrenaline rush. Its very common. You can Google it.

Edward Cullen: Youre like my own personal brand of heroin.

I think the mood is perfect now. I believe I have sufficiently fired your hunger for Edward, and escalated your appetite to know more about him as Robert. Are you ready? Here it is!

Photobucket

1) Edward is energetic and aggressive: Edward and Robert are pretty much the same. But, Robert is very stubborn. Notice the letter t in Pat of his signature. The stems of the letter look like a tepee or a phallic symbol. The more the gap between the two stems at the baseline, the more stubborn the person is. Robert will rarely admit his mistakes and once he makes up his mind, it is very difficult to change him.

3) Edward cant wait to be with Bella. He is too impatient: Robert is an equally impatient man in reality. He hates to wait. In this signature, you can see that he has not bothered to write his complete name. I have about 20 samples of his signature and in all of them he has left it incomplete. Conclusion: People who dont bother to finish their signatures and end them with a thread are usually in a hurry, and they dont have time for many things.

4) Edward talks less and is reticent: But Robert is not like that. Notice that the letter a in Pat is open at the top. It indicates that he is a very talkative person and he likes to speak his mind. But sometimes, he ends up saying more than he should, because of which he lands in tough situations. Robert is often inclined to offer advices without being asked for. People around him sometimes feel overburdened by his garrulity.

In this letter he wrote to a fan, you can see the most of his a & o are open at the top.

5) Edward knows what he wants: Robert doesnt. There is a lot of confusion in Roberts life as far as the choices he makes are concerned. Often, he bites more than he can chew. Robert usually finds himself swamped by work because he hardly plans. The lower-zone letters often touch the lines below.

6) Edward is a quiet man who does not like to socialize: Robert is also like him. Although he looks very confident in public, his internal need, as shown by the small middle zone in his handwriting (see his letter), is to avoid crowds and spend time concentrating on things that he likes to do. His handwriting reveals that he likes to get involved in intellectual pursuits and cultivate reading habit. But because of his lifestyle, he finds less time for himself.

Photobucket

In real life, Robert Pattinson is dating his Twilight heroine, Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan). Lets look at her handwriting and get to know her better and also find out how compatible they are:

Photobucket

1) Bella Swan is clumsy, vulnerable and feeble: But Kristen is not. She is a strong woman who likes to speak her mind. Notice the large size of her signature in small note she wrote to a fan. It shows that she has an above-average public self-image and therefore it is very tough to push her around.

2) Bella is soft-spoken and sweet: Kristen is like that, but she is also as sarcastic as Robert Pattinson (see the sharp ending of her t-bar). Probably she wont put up with his caustic remarks. She will fight back in the same way because she is equally sarcastic, which is reflected by the sharp ending of the t-bar in her signature. The actors signatures show they have all the ingredients necessary to ensure that the arguments between them are spicy and worthy of eavesdropping.

Photobucket

3) Bella is a good talker: So is Kristen. Notice the figure 8 in her signature. The smooth flow of the stroke is indicative of the actresss capacity to weave words in a magical way. I dont know much about her private life, but dont be surprised if you get to know that she likes to write. Because such figure 8 is usually found in the handwriting of writers and authors.

4) Bella does not like to be told what to do: Kristen doesnt like that either. In the small note she has written to her fan, notice that she has inserted capital letters in the middle: For & Best. Clearly, she is breaking the rules of grammar. In behavior, this violation of rule will be reflected in her tendency to ward off everything that comes as a suggestion.
