Kristen interview with 15-20 Magazine (Mexico) Scans & Translation

We had the chance to talk to Kristen Stewart at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles. When she walked into the room, she took off her headphones and shook our hands. Shes even cuter in person than onscreen. Her hair is still dark and short from playing Joan Jett, her eyes stand out and her skin is pale but perfect. Shes thin and shes dressed very casual: white tank top, tight jeans. She pays complete attention to me as she smiles friendly and openly. Weve spoke about it before, but in this third movie we want to know what she likes about Bella:

I had never heard of the books before knowing about the project, and to be honest I didnt have time to read the script the first time they sent it to me. I wasnt impressed with the synopsis, I thought it was shallow and not vey believable, but I ended up reading the script and loved the story right away, I really wanted to play Bella.

After accepting the role in the movie, Kristen read the books to prepare for the character: I read all the books and I love them. But before filming Twilight I only read the first book. The movies are very faithful to the books, so we have a lot of material to work on, you want to know what your character is like, who she is, where shes going, but not too much. As an actress you cant forget, or not know something once you know it, I dont know if that makes sense.

She makes a pause and chooses carefully her words: Many things happen to Bella in this saga. I wanted to stay in the moment in every stage of the story. Reading the books is such a vicarious experience. Its easy to see why so many girls like these books. Its because youre Bella whn youre reading them. I think people can relate to what shes going through and they live these moments through her.

Her favorite book is New Moon: In the first book, she thought she had found true love. I liked seeing her feeling evolve and reconsider everything she thought she had with Edward, who was gone.

In Eclipse Bella goes through many challenges, especially with the love traingle. We asked her how she feels with the way her charate developes in this saga. Again, she takes her time to answer. We have the feeling she worries a lot about her character and her role in the story.

It was interesting to explore how Bella deals with different levels of love and how what she thought in the past couldve changed or maybe not be real at all. Bella is very honest deep down, I really think she is, and this is the first time she lies, she lies to herself and everybody around her, by maybe considering she loves Jacob. And she has to face the fact that the love fo him is not as strong as the love for Edward. Edward and Jacob are mortal enemies, so their actions and choices take meaningful implications for them, for the Cullens, for the wolfpack, and for herself.

Making these scenes was not hard for Kristen, despite the actors being very different from each other, as well as the characters: It wasnt that hard, actually. this is our third movie and the characters and their motivations are very well established, so I just let it take me where it wants me to go. I think it works because we know each other perfectly, weve grown together, and the experience with each other as actors, and playing this characters is something that you can see. Theres certain comfort when we see each other again for filming. she assures with a laugh.

Besides being a romance, Eclipse has more action than its previous movies. The Cullens join forces with the wolfpack in a war against the newborn army started by Victoria.

What physical challenges did this bring to you?
She laughs again: Unfortunately, I didnt do any of the action sequences, and I didnt do my own stunts. I was carried by Taylor during most of the scenes we both agreed that being carried by a half-naked Taylor

Lautner wasnt so bad, could it be?
So then we asked her about the challenges of working on a greenscreen when Taylors character appears to be in wolf shape. Its definitely a challenge as an actress, but I think its more recommendable to not joke around before filming scenes like these because it can break your focus. The worst thing a director can do is say: I know its weird, but I need you to do it. You have to take it seriously and do it.
She adds: Theres a scene where Jacob is in wolf shape and Im supposed to be talking and patting him, so Taylor stood there with his special suit so I could film the scene and make it more real. That made it easier for me.

What can our readers learn from Bella and her story?
They should experiment with different relationships and discover things about them along the way. At that age, your feelings are not necessarily being taken seriously, so they should see for themselves what matters to them, like Bella did, and make their own decisions. Bella risks everything, but I think its wonderful that she owns her actions and deals with the consequences.

Time is up and Kristen has been very open through out our interview, but before we leave we ask her if shes planning to do other things besides acting: I love what I do. It seems like I work all th time, but I really enjoy it. I think Ill go to college in the future. I love writing and I love reading words. Well see.

New Interview: Robert Pattinson fearful of Twilights end

Photobucket
LOS ANGELESROBERT PATTINSON usually arrives at our interviews with an easy, sly grin on his face. The smile reminds us that were in for another humor-filled talk with the guy.

What was different this time was his haircutcropped on the sidewhich made him look younger.

In this chat, Robert talks about his anxiety over the coming end of the Twilight series, how he feels about the kissing scenes between Kristen Stewarts Bella and Taylor Lautners Jacob, and a life-changing moment, among others.

Robert has come a long way from the first time we interviewed him on the London set of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, in which he played Cedric Diggory.

Below are excerpts:

What are you looking forward to about Breaking Dawn being shot back-to-back as two films and of Bill Condon directing them?

Im glad that its Bill Condon. I love his stuff. I havent seen the script yet but I am fearful about the series end. Its such a great security blanket. Its like a net. You can afford to make mistakes when you have another Twilight film to make. After that, I guess youre on your own.

Im glad the Breaking Dawn films will be done together. Because otherwise, its quite hard to fit another film in-between each one. Like what happened in Eclipsehaving to get your mind back to where it was before. I had about a week of preparation time. It was quite stressful in the beginning. With the two films done together, you can just stay in character the whole time.

In the tent scene which is already the much talked-about thing in Eclipse, your vampire character is of course cold, body temperature wise, while Taylors Jacob drives home the point that hes literally hotter.

Its sort of an odd scene. Its quite difficult. Its incredibly depressing for Edward (laughing). It does make him seem incredibly unattractive. But I never really got it in the first place. Its like having some freezing cold person next to you (laughing). Its horrible.

Taylor told us that you were always cracking up in that scene.

I was in a very strange room when we were shooting that scene (laughing). I kept getting obsessed with the idea of the word thoughts with an American accent. It sounds like farts. I couldnt get over it the entire day. The opening line was, Can you at least keep your thoughts to yourself? Im sitting in this tent and every single time, I laugh over that line. Taylor got to the point where he was like, Those words dont even sound the same. Its not funny at all.

I think I was tired. I find all this stuff where we have to boss each other all quite funny. Considering that were in teen-girl magazines and stuff Taylor always has his shirt off. And Ive got my little quaff (laughing). Were trying to act all macho. I thought it was really funny.

Talk about the dynamics between the three of you now that Jacob gets to kiss Bella in this movie.

Its weird. Not only do they do the kissing scenesthey never do it when I am even on the set. I have the day off. You genuinely feel like someones cheating on you. Then you come back to the set. And almost always, its after one of their scenes where I suspect them of doing something. It just so happened every single timeI would come into work being like, So how was it?

Can you set the record straightyour Edward character is a 100-year-plus-old virgin?

I think hes how old is he now? He must be 109 or 110. Theres an arguable point with another vampire in Alaska from the first book. Its briefly mentioned. But I cant remember if its actually fully explained if he is a virgin or not. I think the fans like to believe he is.

Since these Twilight films are fantasy/romance/thriller dramas, may I ask which love stories inspired you?

I have to sound really cheesy and say my parents. My parents met when my mom was 17 and my dad was 26. Theyre still together. I grew up in an age where everybody gets divorced.

But in terms of film, Ive always liked despairing, painful love stories. I think thats probably because Im still young. Theres a Godard film called First Name: Carmen. Im not even going to attempt to say the French pronunciation. I always found that to be one of the most truthful and inspiring love stories Ive seen on film.

How uncomfortable is it to be acting with contact lens on?

You cant feel properly. You cant sweat. If you do anything to sweat, everything starts breaking on your face. You cant even psyche yourself up for a scene. I dont know how people do scenes with contact lenses on. I just find it impossible. The Edward character is about restraint and restricting yourself about everything. Hes not a very effusive person. A lot of the performance should be done with your eyes but then you eliminate that ability by putting the contacts on. Whenever I do other movies in which I dont have to wear contacts, I breathe a sigh of relief.

In Breaking Dawn, you become a father and Bella becomes a vampire bride. Do you have tips for Kristen on playing a vampire? Do you feel that youre mature enough to play a dad?

Its funny because Im playing a dad in some scenes in Breaking Dawn and Im portraying one in a movie Im doing now as well. Im terrified about doing it. I dont know what Im going to do when it comes to those scenes. Ive been complaining so much about having the makeup on and contact lenses. Kristen is like, Youre so pathetic. You have to just get over it. Why cant you just get used to it? [Now, since Kristen has to wear contact lens, too], I can finally be like, You will know what its like. Youre going to be in constant aggravation the whole time. Which is great.

We dont see a lot of guys like Edward who protects a girls virtue. Do you relate to him at all? How old-fashioned are you?

I think Ive become more old-fashioned. I feel like Im already turning middle-aged now (laughing). Its quite nice to be doing a series of films that a lot of people think uphold positive virtues. Some people actually think the films are a good influence on their kids.

Stephenie Meyer was on the set of Eclipse more often than she was on the first two movies. What was that like?

Its not intimidating. Shes really nice. She really likes the films. It was strange, though. I didnt really notice until toward the end of the filming. I was like, Stephenie has been here every day (laughing). It was interesting. Shes always open. She would never really come in and push anything on us. She was open to answering questions.

You have a western genre film project, Unbound Captives, in development. Why are you fascinated with westerns?

I grew up watching westerns. My dads favorite movies are all westerns. I hope that film happens. Its such a complicated film to get together because its not really an action film or anything. Its a slightly depressing romantic drama, half of which is in Comanche. It will definitely be different. My character is a massive stretch for me.

You play the guitar. How important is music for you?

Its really important. Incidentally, my sister is a singer and a songwriter. Acting has helped as well because Ive never really had any particular interest. The only reason Id start releasing records is hopefully so I get a name in music and have good people who would want to collaborate with me. I guess having a name in acting, you can get your foot through the door with quite a few musicians. I hope Ill be able to record some stuff just for myself. The idea of selling itas soon as you start making itit dies in a lot of ways. Its too scary at that point. Then everyone feels the need to judge it. But if youre not making money and youre doing it for yourself, then no ones going to judge it.

Twilight is very popular with young people, including Jaden Smith. What kind of books and music did you like when you were a teenager?

I was obsessed with a writer called Martin Amis when I was a teenager. I read everything. Every single time I went to a bookshop, Id see if he has other books. I used to buy multiple editions of his books.
Martin, Van Morrison and Jimi Hendrixthey were my people when I was growing up. Id obsessively collect all their stuff.

Thats funny about how Jaden likes the Twilight thing. Hes like the first guy whos willing to admit it (laughing).

What has so far been a life-changing experience for you?

My moving to secondary school. I was kicked out of my first school. There is a whole system of the schools in London where I went from one school to another and then to university. Everybody went to the same schools. But I got kicked out. I ended up going to an arts school which was probably the best thing that ever happened to me.

Why were you kicked out?

Secret (laughing).

Kristen's Interview by 1Live- Germany

She is currently one of the hottest teen idols of the world. Wherever she is, her fans are screaming themselves powerless. Kristen Stewart has just turned 20 years old and an international superstar since people could see her for the first time as Bella Swan in the movie "Twilight".

The second part of the Saga, "New Moon", was an even greater success and now "Eclipse", the third installment. On her promotional tour in Europe 1LIVE reporter Tom Westerholt met Kristen Stewart in Berlin to talk to her about the new movie and the "Twilight-hype" and its exciting jet-set life. A good-humored, petite young woman in jeans, white shirt and sneakers greets me in her hotel room with open, slightly disheveled hair and a pleasant little makeup on her face.

1LIVE: Kristen, since you played in the "Twilight" movies, you belong to one of the superstars. But you are acting for years, for example 2002 "Panic Room", as a small daughter of Jodie Foster. Since she was the only superstar in the movie, how was it like?

Kristen Stewart: Yeah, I was very lucky that my first experience with it...to be an actress...are associated with her. She treated everybody as we should treat people on set. Not everybody is doing that. She only makes what she loves and is fully behind it. She is an absolute role model, I've already said it back then: I want to do it the same way.

1LIVE: You were twelve years old, who were your heroes, who did you idolize as millions idolize you today?

Kristen Stewart: To be honest I have never idolized someone, I've never been like that. I have three brothers. We did a lot of sports and stuff, been hanging out with the guys. And I have played drums when I was younger...so I never had any idols. I do cry at concerts if it's great, I once cried horribly at a Van Morrison concert. That was kind of an obsession.

1LIVE: The fans are obsessed with you, no matter where you show up, which is especially the case for Robert (Pattinson, plays her film-lover, the vampire Edward Cullen). How do you back out when it gets too severe?

Kristen Stewart: It is never "too" severe. No, not really. More in specific moments when I stand on stage in front of that incredible crowd and that energy knocks me down. Then it got me and I can not hide it. It seems like I want to get away real quick but its not like that at all. I was just overwhelmed by the situation, but actually I had fun.

1LIVE: Like at the MTV Movie Awards? Robert and you needed to constantly return to the stage, you guys won like all available prices the other day.

Kristen Stewart: You feel kinda weird. I mean, this is a fan award and all the fans have clicked so that we win all the prizes. But its the books that they really love. It is of course nice to see that they like our interpretation in the movie, but I still think that this has nothing to do with me. It is the character Bella, so I don't see myself as role model or something.

1LIVE: Apropos: What is with those who do not like your films? There are almost as passionate anti-fans as fans, what do you think why is that?

Kristen Stewart: On the one hand as I have said, the fact that they dont like our interpretation. These are the fans of the books that have their own pictures in their head. Even we actors, the directors on set have that. We are and werent always agreeing on everything. You just cant. And then there are of course people who are against everything which a mass of people like a lot.

1LIVE: An example?

Kristen Stewart: Lets take the Jimmy Kimmel show where we were recently invited to. There have been many crazy fans and Jimmy started to make fun of Justin Bieber, who has also just so many crazy fans as we do. So just like that Jimmy asked, whether Justin Bieber should be in the next "Twilight" movie and the people freaked out and screamed "No!" Because of that you could realize the different fans. People can get really frightening and aggressive.

1LIVE: Who keeps you on the ground when the fan madness is raging around you?

Kristen Stewart: Well, my family. I have a great family and my parents are in the industry and therefore know all the dangers and traps that you can tap into. I'm lucky. Before I loose the ground, as you say, they would grab me quite quickly. But it is not only their experience, they are just great people. And if you love what you do, then you better not start going crazy. Because if you do, in the end you might loose everything.

1LIVE: That sounds pretty considerate and role model function...

Kristen Stewart: Oh you know ... the truth is the fans are not really looking up to me, they are looking up to Bella. And that's good, because Bella is definitely someone you can look up to, I'm someone else. When its really about me, I say: "Fine, your decision." I'm just young and I want to make movies. I have absolutely no desire to use my status as a celebrity for anything. I want to make movies and that means that I have to deal with the fame.

1LIVE: It must be not that easy to meet guys right? I mean, could your three brothers help you dealing with guys anyway?

Kristen Stewart: Well, a relationship with your brother is something different than someone for whom you are interested in. When you come into that age, the relationship with your brothers changes in a different way, its quite interesting. When we were little, I felt somehow all four of us as equal. And then later, when I came into the specific age, I had to make clear announcements. According to the motto: You can no longer treat me like that because I'm a girl!

1LIVE: Well you definitely have come to that age and you have experienced at lot of things in front of the camera: Including kissing in front of the cameras.

Kristen Stewart: What's next?

1LIVE: You have - at least for the shooting - make out a several times with Robert Pattinson and in your new film "The Runaways" you made out with your co-star, Dakota Fanning. Who is the better kisser?

Kristen Stewart (grinning wide and hesitated with the answer, author's note): Yeahhhh... Who is the beter kisser? Dakota, of course! (Laughs). No, of course, Robert. No, but Dakota. Uhhmm, I can not decide ...

A BTS look at the Battle training scene in 'Eclipse' (Video - Article + New Still)

Photobucket

If youve seen The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, odds are you left raving about the wolves particularly the scene in which Jacob, in wolf form, saddles up to Bella during the training sequence. Its one of the moments Phil Tippett a two-time Oscar winner for Jurassic Park and Return of the Jedi whose visual effects house, Tippett Studio, handled the wolves for both Eclipse and New Moon is most proud of. That was an unusual thing for us in that most of the time, we are doing these god awful animals start tearing each other apart, Tippett told us recently, phoning from England where hed just celebrated Ray Harryhausens 90th birthday. So it was great to have a quiet moment. A tender scene that telegraphs a budding and suppressed relationship was tricky. In fact, the entire training sequence was difficult in that the wolves do nothing. A bunch of wolves standing around watching vampires train and trying to portend some kind of anxiety was tricky. Its tricky for any actor when you have to carry a certain part of the scene where you do nothing, because you have to figure out a way of filling up the nothing with something.

It was important to Eclipse director David Slade that Taylor Lautner actually film that scene with Kristen Stewart so she was able to establish eye contact with him instead of with a golf ball that couldve been used as an eyeline and painted out later. The wardrobe department dressed Lautner in a neutral grey leotard and hoodie primarily so his skin tone wouldnt bounce back onto Stewart and create lighting issues when Wolf Jacob was added, Tippett says. We, however, like to believe someone was already thinking about the DVD extras. That will be great, wont it?

The tender moment was made more challenging by the fact that Slade had a different vision of the wolves than New Moon director Chris Weitz. For starters, Weitz wanted the wolves to have their actors eyes. He kind of wanted the performance to feel like the wolf behavior was being filtered through a human brain, Tippett says. Slade wanted the wolves to have wolf eyes to de-anthropomorphize them. David wanted the performances to be more feral, twitchy, and agitated. He wanted to see wolves that were more photographically representational, which had to do with things like getting more hair follicles, making the paws smaller.

The believability of the wolves was equally crucial in the climactic fight sequence with the newborn vampire army. We had to come up with a rationale for what happens when a 1,300-pound wolf thats running 35 miles an hour crashes into a newborn vampire [played by an actor that weighs 165 lbs], how we justify that, Tippett says. David allowed us the transgression of saying, Well, lets just say that the newborns, since theyre not made of human material but some kind of a more marble-like material, have an actual mass of something like 500 pounds, so they have a lower center of gravity. And that allowed us to begin thinking about how to make all of that palpable, without thinking that theyre existing in two different physical universes. Watch a clip of how that action gets put together below.

Which wolves did you prefer: New Moons or Eclipses?

Interview: Twilight Actress Kristen Stewart Steps Into The Light

Photobucket

There cant be many actresses who are as unassuming as Kristen Stewart. She may be a household name, thanks to her portrayal of Bella Swan -- a girl whose affections are being fought over by a vampire and werewolf in the Twilight franchise -- but Kristen isnt one to play the fame game. In fact, she just seems embarrassed by it.

Fiercely private, her reticence to reveal all about her personal life has earned her a reputation for being sullen and uncooperative in interviews. But, it turns out, this has more to do with plain old nerves than a difficult disposition.

Im comforted by knowing what my next few days are going to bring me and thats what has initially scared me about press because you never know what youre walking into, says Kristen.

Like right now, I have no idea where the conversation is going to go. Ive always been like so, so terrified of that, its completely rendered me incapable of even doing it.

The small and slight 20-year-old is dressed in a red-checked shirt and skinny jeans; the sunglasses propped on top of her head revealing striking green eyes (in Twilight she wears brown contacts). The only trace of cosmetics is her black nail varnish, but then theres no need for a face full of foundation when you boast perfect, pale skin. Shes like a real-life advertisement for the bottle of Fiji water from which she swigs throughout the interview.

I love making movies and I want people to know about them, she continues. So I might be shy and that might make me seem weird to people, but its not going to stop me from doing what I love to do.

The faintest of smiles crosses her lips, but she continues to shake one of her legs up and down, suggesting just how uncomfortable shes feeling. Its an improvement on press junkets of past when she was rendered near mute.

You have no idea, she says, laughing at the mention of this. I actually feel normal.

For those who have remained immune to the Twilight phenomenon, the film saga is based on a series of novels by the author Stephenie Meyer. Its told from the viewpoint of l7-year-old Bella, who moves to the small (and perennially over-cast) town of Forks, Washington, where she promptly falls in love with Edward Cullen; a 109-year-old vampire trapped in the body of a beautiful teenager.

Edward is played by heartthrob-du-jour Robert Pattinson -- the man Kristen is reportedly dating in real life. The are they, arent they? dating conundrum has only served to exacerbate the Twilight-mania, with showbiz blogs dissecting the pairs body language and public interaction in minute detail.

Kristen isnt about to confirm her relationship status, but shes aware whats being said.

I am so aware of it, she stresses.

Because Im like such a control freak and because I have to talk about it all the time and Im directly asked about it, she adds, then pauses. Like, if Im ever asked about something and I go, What are you talking about? Like thats the worst feeling in the world because youre completely caught off-guard.

Currently on a world-wide promotional tour for Eclipse, the third instalment in the Twilight saga, Kristen says: Nobody had any idea that we were even going to make a sequel.

The success of the books grew in an insanely quick amount of time with the growth of the movies. Initially we were really excited by the fan base that we had because it was going to be a cult phenomenon or whatever but not a global phenomenon.

Twilight, the first film, was released in 2008, followed by New Moon last year, which saw a reluctant Edward leave Bella in the hope of saving her from a life with vampires.

Having spent most of the last shoot acting bereft, Kristen welcomed the action-packed Eclipse.

Bellas much more industrious in this movie, she says.

Shes called upon to actually deal with things that dont necessarily have an emotional drain on her.

Amid the action is a burgeoning love triangle between Bella, Edward and Bellas best-friend Jacob, who was revealed to be a werewolf in New Moon and played by, a predominantly shirtless, Taylor Lautner.

Basically, Im still being hunted by vampires, but the biggest problem in my life is being able to acknowledge that there are different levels of loving someone, says Kristen. I must admit to myself that I am totally in love with my best friend, but just not as much as my real, true love, who obviously is Edward. She pauses. For me, Eclipse is about growing up and making decisions and realising that the choices that you make arent necessarily instinctual.

Yet the actress admits that many of her own decisions are based on instinct.

I guess I go from the gut, which is how Ive chosen every movie Ive ever done, she says. And its never failed her. Its not like Ive had a life changing experience on every movie Ive done, but Ive taken a lot from every day of work Ive ever done so thats worth it.

Born in Los Angeles, Kristens father is a TV stage manager and her mother a script advisor. Ive grown up around it so I cant imagine doing anything else, she says. At the age of 11, she starred alongside Jodie Foster in Panic Room, but, Twilight aside, Kristens film choices of late have been low-budget independent and intelligent movies, such as Adventureland and the up-coming release, a Joan Jett biopic The Runaways, in which she stars alongside her Twilight co-star Dakota Fanning.

The job doesnt change depending on the budget, she says. If youre doing it for the right reasons then none of that should matter to you. And Im not doing the small movies in between just to do something different; Im doing them because Ive got lucky enough to really love the characters that have been presented to me.

And she has Twilight to thank for that. Asked how her lifes changed since becoming Bella, she says: I cant really go to malls anymore, obviously, but thats not like a huge sacrifice.

The biggest change is that its put me in a position to be able to make choices as an actor and thats really rare for anybody. Usually you do what you get, its a hard business and so thats what Twilights given me, its given me indulgences as an actor.

Eclipse Cast Interview On Yahoo!

Exclusive Kristen Interview with BILD - Germany (Translation)

Photobucket

She is the most mysterious woman in Hollywood.
Kristen Stewart (20) from Los Angeles is "Bella Swan" - the girl that loves the undead vampire "Edward Cullen" - Robert Pattinson (24).

A box office phenomen that scored milliards: "Twilight" - 100 mio. books sold, book 3, "Eclipse", is about to hit theaters July 15 - a bloody love-saga for teenagers.

The phenomen? Millions of teenagers want to be like her.
In love, lost, cursed.

But how is SHE really?
She is beautiful, pretty, spontaneous.

What is her life like?
"Hotels, planes, journalists, cameras. Where am I anyway? Just a joke! Tomorrow I have a holiday. I'm going to take a look around Berlin."

Do you google your name? There are 25 millions hits!
She fidgets around in her chair. "Yeah, I mean I have to know what's going on. I'm a control freak. I hate it, if I don't know the latest about me. But that's crazy! What's written there is frightening. So much rubbish...

She has a dreamjob.
"I work since I was a little girl." At the age of 11, she became the star of "Panic Room".

Single?
She smiles. She's silent.

In love?
She smiles at me. And shrugs. Pert, but very nice. She defends her heart. She's not a vamp. Not a sex bomb. She's a girl who's becoming a woman. She smokes and loves what she wants.

What's making you upset?
The fact that everyone thinks I'm ungrateful, conceited, arrogant. I love my job. Of course I make mistakes. But doesn't everyone have the right for mistakes?

The photographers come in. I smell her hair. "What parfume is that?" She shakes her head. "I don't like parfume! Uh?! You smell the hairspray?" We laugh and leave.

LOS ANGELES Ask many a teenage girl to which team are they most loyal and its unlikely youll hear about the Blackhawks, White Sox, Bears or Cubs. Youll probably get an earful about hits of a different kind from the new movie The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Youre Team Edward if you love the moody vampire Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson. Team Jacob is for fans of the usually shirtless, chiseled abs of Taylor Lautners werewolf persona, Jacob Black.

Recently, I was a guest of Summit Entertainment in Los Angeles, talking with both actors, who are now on their third installment of fang-filled love tug of war.

You both have been through three different directors on these movie adaptations. Whats been the difference for you?

Robert Pattinson: I dont know necessarily if it shows in the final film, but the difference between Chris Weitz (New Moon director) and David Slade (Eclipse director) is dramatic. Chris saw the first one and just thought that he wanted to follow along the road. David wanted to do it completely different from the first two. It all felt so fresh right from the first day. Edwards movement and such, from every single part of the performance, it just really shook it up a little bit.

Taylor Lautner: Well, Jacob gets a little more frustrated and a little heated in this one. It was very emotional for me. There are a lot of emotional scenes between Jacob and Bella (played by Kristen Stewart) and Jacob and Edward. He becomes very close to Bella, theres the much-talked-about kissing scene but also all of the fighting scenes, so it was good it was much more dramatically challenging.

And what about that kissing scene with Kristen? I know that youre both very good friends. That has to be a little awkward.

TL: We are very close friends, but I wouldnt say it was awkward. After we finished a take of the kissing scene that was kind of steamy, there would be a moment of silence and then wed look at each other and shed go, Ewww, we just kissed weird. And then we had to do it again and again. After a while, it got kind of mechanical.

In the movie, your characters are both in love with Bella and in hot pursuit of her interests. She doesnt know which way to turn and even is at the core of the battle that breaks out in this film. In real life, could you be in a relationship that was so difficult to have?

RP: Oh, no way. Im terrible at that. I cant even deal with people shouting at each other. The slightest bit of conflict and Im gone immediately. Its one of the challenges of this movie for me. Its balancing the emotional aspects with the physical demands. Occasionally, there come moments where you have to portray a big story within a fight scene and it does become quite complicated.
