Rob Starved himself for the role: "Torture"

"Twilight" star Robert Pattinson went through all points of hell qualifying for the role as trimmed Edward in "New Moon".

- I ate nothing the last week before the scene. It was torture, he says.
Some are doing everything - and then some more to reach the directos requirements.

Robert Pattinson, Edward in "New Moon", which hit theaters November 20, starved himself for a whole week before the scene where he emerges with naked chest. Some time before that it was strictly health foods in force.

- It was torture, he told entertainmentwise.com.

Despite the discipline, he is not happy with his new upper body. Pattinson admits that he started with preliminary work to late.

- I have seen the scene and from the front it looks okay, but from the side ... that's another story
