New/Old Yellow Handkerchief interview : Kristen & Eddie

It may be a bit jarring to see Kristen Stewart so far away from Forks, but at least her new co-star is best friends with Rob Pattinson! Eddie Redmayne and Kristen team up in The Yellow Handkerchief, a film about a road trip through post-Katrina New Orleans. In the movie, Kristen hops in a car with two strangers... and the rest you'll just have to see for yourself!

gURL: What made you want to play this part?
Kristen: When I read the script, it was one of those things that you get really excited about and then instantly really sick because you're not sure that you've got the part. I was sort of undeniably emotionally moved by it and I think just regarding the person that I played, she makes such a comeback. I feel like in the beginning she's so clearly disappointed in everything around her and that first time you see her she's rejected and that's what she's running from.

gURL: You guys must have spent a lot of time in the car. Any funny stories from filming?
Eddie:[For the scene] when we hit the [deer], we had a load of crew in the back with lights and all this stuff. And I had to do this screeching break as we hit this thing and I was like, "Be careful because I am screeching this car..."
Kristen: Again and again you said it.
Eddie: "...It's gonna be quite a jolt when we stop." And they said "No problem, man, no problem." And we did the scene and they cut to me and I break the car and I scream and this guy got all bruised out of the back! And I'm like, "I told you man, I told you."

Have you learned anything interesting about each other since you spent so much time together?
Kristen: There's nothing interesting to learn about this guy.
Eddie: There's nothing interesting to learn about her.

Kristen Stewart Says Robert Pattinson Is Quite Bold In Remember Me

These days, every Twilighter has two movies theyre dying to see while they continue to count down the days until Junes Eclipse. One is Kristen Stewarts The Yellow Handkerchief, a romantic drama that opens in limited release this weekend, and the other is Remember Me, Robert Pattinson first post-Edward Cullen starring role, which hits theaters March 12.

With all the kissing scenes Stewart has shared with Pattinson, Twilight fans already have plenty of reason to be jealous. Now they have another shes already seen Robs film and she gives it two KStew thumbs-up.

Ive seen the movie, Im going to just say Im sure people will be like, Oh my God [I'm so jealous!], she laughed. Hes really good in the movie.

For those of you whove been too busy watching Twilight on repeat mode on your DVD player to stay up with the latest news, Remember Me tells the story of a troubled young man (Pattinson) who finds redemption in a forbidden romance with a policemans daughter (Emilie de Ravin). As if fans needed an added incentive, it was revealed yesterday that the film will hit theaters attached to the Eclipse trailer but although Stewart didnt see that, she did see a version of the film without it.

Its hard to talk about your friends about anybody thats close to you that you know, she said of critiquing Robs performance. Its like, hes everything I know he is. I know he can do any film.

You can bet that Hollywood will be watching the box office of Remember Me very closely, looking at it as the first true indication of whether Rob and so many of his other Twilight co-stars can carry their momentum over to non-Saga projects. And although she wouldnt speak to the films box-office potential, KStew teased Twilight fans by promising that when it comes to acting chops in Remember Me, Rob brings the goods.

Living is so wrapped up in who you are as an actor, not everybody can play every part, she said, explaining that RPattz was well cast in the film. He is really strong in the movie. Maybe people wont really expect that hes quite bold, which is great.

Whos the Bigger Box Office Draw: Rob or Kristen?

For all the money the Twilight franchise is making, how much of it actually has to do with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson? This March, exactly one week apart, both Stewart and Pattinson will be releasing a pair of movies that are arguably the biggest since theyve been wrapped up in all things Twilight. Prior to this, Stewart watched Adventureland gross a measly $16 million, while Pattinsons Little Ashes didnt even cross the $500,000 mark.

But that was back in 2008, and one would think the heat on these two has grown since then especially with the release of a second Twilight film, New Moon, which went on to break records in 2009. Now the two actors are back for another round of solo efforts, with Pattinson debuting Remember Me on March 12th and Stewart rockin out in The Runaways on March 19th (Im not counting The Yellow Handkerchief because its way too small to do any sort of damage). To be fair, Remember Me comes from Summit Entertainment and, as such, is fortunate enough to be carrying the first trailer for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. The Runaways, meanwhile, has a handful of mediocre Sundance reviews and a much talked-about make-out scene between Stewart and Dakota Fanning. As far as gimmicks go, Im scoring this one as Pattinson: 1 Stewart: 0.

Even with all that, I still cant see these two films making a ton of money (Remember Me has the better shot, in my opinion). And if they dont, should we begin to re-evaluate just how popular K-Stew and R-Patz are? If neither of these two can step away from Twilight and help a movie earn at the box office, then whats the point? Why the obsession? How can they be superstars and not be superstars at the same time? It just doesnt make sense.

Currently, as of 8:12pm PST, the results are

Robert Pattinson: 376 (70.7%)

Kristen Stewart:156 (29.3%)
