Photobucket

Breaking Dawn, Pt. 1?

In theaters: Nov. 18, 2011
Director: Bill Condon
Cast: Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson, Billy Burke, Dakota Fanning
Lowdown: A wedding, a pregnancy and the Volturi arent happy.
Drew McWeenys Take:
Bill Condons arguably the best filmmaker to touch the Twilight franchise so far, and hes got the hardest job yet.  Can he find a way to make the craziest book in the series work onscreen?

New Moon Holds On To Opening Day Record

HitFix has a new article looking at the opening day numbers for Iron Man 2. What does that have to do with Twilight? Well, it turns out that the much anticipated Iron Man 2 couldnt even get close to the opening day record that New Moon holds, meaning the only competition that New Moon has in the near future might just be its sequel, Eclipse. Read more below:

If you noticed your Iron Man 2? screening on Friday wasnt sold out, you werent the only one. The highly-anticipated sequel opened to a strong, but not spectacular first day of $52 million. Historically, that places it seventh all-time behind 2006s $55.8 million for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest. That makes The Twilight Saga: New Moons $72.7 million record safe for quite some time. At this point, the vampire series may only have to look out for its own new chapter, Eclipse, to, um, eclipse its current mark.

Check out the entire article at HitFix here.

Yeah, I fist-pumped in the air when I saw this article. I love that New Moon had such impressive opening day numbers. I look forward to seeing Eclipse take over the number one spot!

Did you think Iron Man 2 could take over the top opening day spot? Do you think Eclipse will beat New Moon?

HitFix: Twilight Saga: Eclipse Doing Pickups With David Slade, Not Reshoots

Svensk versttning i slutet
More information is coming in from our Twilight Saga Drama Filled Wednesday! HitFix.com has now released information in regards to the supposed reshoot of certain Eclipse scenes that we previously reported -

Rumors and gossip have followed the Twilight Saga ever since the first film created an uproar at the box office a year and a half ago. From the personal relationship between the stars to who will direct which sequel, its been a non-stop job for Summit Entertainment to put out one fire after another. That continued today.

This morning Canadian gossip site Lainey Gossip reported that reshoots of two key scenes for the forthcoming The Twilight Saga: Eclipse were occurring in Vancouver next week. The pundit also floated that because of creative differences with the studio director David Slade wouldnt oversee the reshoots and that former helmers Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight) and Chris Weitz (New Moon) could step in instead. Because the outlet is based in the city and has been correct on a number stories regarding the franchise before, many media took the report with a hint of credibility which was a mistake.

HitFix has learned that Slade, who is currently overseeing the films score in London, would be headed to Vancouver himself to film what are obvstentively pick up shots, not reshot scenes. Pick up shots are cut into already completed scenes and can be necessary because of anything from bad lighting, a faulty print or a missing expression or line that was determined in editing. Reshoots insinuate a completely new scene being inserted into a picture.

Additionally, a Summit spokesperson told HitFix that the shoot has been planned for months, the picture is not in trouble and, in fact, the studio thinks it may be the best of the three so far. Considering, this writer has heard praise for Eclipses script, thats easy to believe. The spokesperson also noted that reshoot timing is three days or less, is not a lot of material and furthermore, they do not involve the meadow scene or any action scenes whatsoever.

Fans will be able to decide their opinion on Slades vision for Eclipse when the film opens nationwide on June 30.

'Twilight Saga' at #1 on HitFix.com's Movie Power Rankings List

It took The Twilight Saga three weeks to take the #1 spot on HitFix.com's "Movie Power Ranking" list this week and that could be in part thanks to the announcement that the final installment of the Saga is *this close* to signing a director. Bill Condon has taken that much-talked-about front runner spot - Condon has Dreamgirls, Kinsey, and Gods and Monsters to his name.

He also is the most critically acclaimed filmmaker to take the reins of the franchise yet and could help shepherd some of the more uneven performances that have been scattered throughout the first two films. The deal isn't done, but "Twilight" fans should be very satisfied and excited over Condon's willingness to tackle the most challenging book in the series. More intriguing is whether they'll be able to keep any changes secret with the first "Dawn" not expected till holiday 2012.

2012?! Well I'm sure Summit will keep us occupied with Twilight stuff until then :)

1. "Twilight Saga" (last week no. 10)
Taylor, Kristen, Robert and Ashley (yes, you Ms. Greene), your latest boss has directed four performances to Academy Award nominations and one win. It's gonna be hard work, but you might actually want to listen to him.

Hit Fix Interview with Kristen Stewart

Hit Fix interview with Robert Pattinson

When this writer first met Robert Pattinson, he was a relatively obscure British actor who'd received a tiny bit of notoriety from appearing in a "Harry Potter" flick. It was April, 2008 and as we talked on the set of this tiny flick titled "Twilight" during a night shoot in the middle of a small Oregon town, he considered a scenario where he might not continue acting. Perhaps he'd focus on the music side of career, perhaps not. Needless to say, what a difference a year and a half makes.
Arguably up there with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt as one of the most popular celebrities in the world, it's no understatement to say the "Twilight" franchise has completely changed Pattinson's life forever. We spoke again during the "New Moon" press day on Saturday and while it wasn't the 45 minutes I'd been granted when he was "up and coming" not that long ago, it was clear that Pattinson was still as polite, genial and honest as he was back then.

The 23-year-old joked about how he may just keep working as much as possible because the seclusion of shooting allows him a somewhat "normal life" and went in depth about the differences between working with his "Twilight," "New Moon" and "Eclipse" directors. He also made some particularly intriguing comments about the last "Twilight" installment in particular.
